If he has already made agreements, or is discussions regarding an agreement, with the Big 12 it seems like he might like to lay low until the dust settles. Obviously, he is going to get asked about the Big 12, and it will be very interesting to see what he says.
Of course, maybe this is strategic and he wants to put an official position out there one way or the other. Was very interesting how quiet he (and the other ADs) were about the ACC meetings. I hope his low profile at this point is strategic and not because we are caught off guard.
Its very interesting that he has a Big 12 background...that has had to have been helpful if the rumors are true.

out denial of any contact with the Big 12 would amount to an admission that something is in the works, and would only add fuel to what already amounts to a wildfire. Many would see it as confirmation that we are indeed gone.
If there is anything to it, then a flat out denial makes him a bold-faced liar.
If there is nothing to it, and he says so, then most of Tnet has really been duped.

My take on TDP news conference projection ...

TDP: "I understand there has been a great deal of online speculation about Clemson leaving the ACC to potentially join another conference. While I understand this is a very interesting topic for alumni, fans and boosters, I also want to state for the record that this is all purely speculation and Clemson has not been offered admission to any athletic conference ... and as a founding member of the ACC we currently don't anticipate a scenario under which Clemson would leave the ACC or have an interest in leaving the ACC.
As Commissioner Swofford stated last week, I believe all of us are better served by not dealing with hypotheticals. I have spent many years in the Big 12 and I have enjoyed my time at Clemson as a member of the ACC, and I can tell you both are great conferences. That said, Coach Swinney and our administration are focusing all our energies on the 2012 football season and preparing for a tremendous first week challenge facing Auburn in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.
No. I can't tell you what FSU and other universities are planning as I'm not privy to that information. What I can do is answer any questions about Clemson and the upcoming 2012-13 school year. Any questions?"

Some of these guys are going to be shocked when the news finally breaks. There are anti-trust lawsuits to avoid and several other factors that will ensure everything is kept hush, hush until it's ready to be formally announced. Unreal some still think we stay. Simply unbelievable.
