How so? He stated he would use the portal as needed but preferred to recruit the HS ranks which is exactly what he is doing so how is this a test?

Also, this is Chandler's second time in the portal, proving his lack of allegiance to any one program. Dabo would not waste a second thinking about a guy like this.

I don’t think this is true at all. Chandler Morris beat our Max Duggan in 2022 with Riley as OC. Duggan went on to the national championship. And with his father working for Dabo I could see him giving Chandler a look of Cade were willing to redshirt and restart his development.

Pretty sure Dabo won’t risk it. And it would make little sense for Cade to take that kind of step back.

Why will it be a test of Dabo's portal management? For all we know Morris could've entered the portal with an eye on moving down to a smaller school. He has missed a lot of football due to injuries.

Let's say we entertain recruiting him from the portal. Does he want to be 2nd string? I dont think so but I suppose he may. Then what happens? Qb Viz would probably enter the portal this Spring and then we'd be back to square one and possibly worse off.
Also, Dabo has said he's happy with his Qb room. But crazier things have happened.

I wouldn't mind picking him up since we missed on all of our QB targets this year. But I don't know if I'd point to this as a use case for proper portal management. Dabo seems cool with what he has. If Chandler lands in Clemson, it would be as a favor to Chad more than to add needed depth.
