just like I probably reserved judgement regarding the allegations that Brad Brownell was verbally abusive by one of his players, O'Neil McBride. And while administrators have not had to get involved in the Dabo case, as they did in the Brownell incident, I think it's best for us to have all the facts before we, as fans, make a decision.

Why "in person"? The deed is done and what would he get from Dabo? A denial? And who says Dabo would meet with him anyhow. Most likely Dabo was just trying to run off a kid who already planned to transfer and was unlikely to play. It is not uncommon.
TK is a man and was making a statement of his place in the Clemson family.

Of course he wouldn't which is sorta the thing that makes this all sound a bit strange . Why would Dabo waste time and energy berating a scout team player who is transferring? Him leaving has zero impact on the team moving forward so it just doesn't make sense
|

Since the allegations made their way onto the Board earlier today do you, as Deputy Moderator, now have jurisdiction that would allow to investigate the matter? I for one would feel better about getting to the bottom of this if you do.

So legendary Tiger Terry Kinard is a liar? Why would he put all of this on Facebook? I believe him. I also believe it’s major college football and Dabo isn’t the aww shucks hick bible thumper most on here think. So what if it’s true? Doesn’t bother me, maybe the player stinks and Dabo wanted to move him along faster.

I've been the coach and I've been the parent. This is what I see:
1) Kid who's not good enough to play at Clemson, even though his dad was, is given the opportunity to walk on. "Friends and family" decisions are not always good business as we have seen and will see.
2) Dad is excited, but disappointed in kid for not being more athletic, smarter, whatever. He hopes that over time he can get "coached up" and graduate from scout team. He gets in a few games this year
3) Kid thinks he can play at Savannah State or somewhere so he goes to Dabo and announces that he's entering the transfer portal. Dabo says the usual, "all right, good luck kid, we wish you the best."
4) Then Jaden makes this unprecedented request. "Coach, I'd like to stay with the team through the bowl game and possibly even play."
5) All sorts of thoughts are running through Dabo's head right about now, and the one in the forefront is "you're not good enough to get a snap against anybody we didn't blow out; do you really think I'm going to put you out there during a national showcase?" But he is kind and diplomatic and says something like, "I really think it's best that you announce your decision to transfer now while teams still have a landing spot for you rather than wait a couple more weeks when they might not."
6) Kid may or may not have taken it the right way, but he tells dad and dad feels like the son's request is reasonable because of everything dad "did for Clemson" in the early 80s. "It's just one game...one snap in one game even...that's not too much to ask." He begins to sour.
7) Dabo gets fired up in practice over someone not doing his job and makes a general statement of "Listen guys, if you won't do your job, then I will find someone hungry and willing to take your spot. You don't get playing time here because of your NIL or because of your star rating with a recruiting service or because you made SportsCenter one time or because of your last name. Everything is merit based at little ol' Clemson where Hunter Renfrow can go from a nobody to a hero in the big game to a NFL draft pick." Little Kinard keys in on that "last name" phrase and that sets the stage for a later conversation.
8) HERE Dabo gets in the flesh a little and says something he didn't have to, not untruthful, but unneeded. Maybe he's even given Little Kinard a few reps with the second team (due to how thin we are with opt-outs) just to try him out, give him a fair look, and maybe change his mind and give him a shot at playing in the bowl game which would be huge for this kid of course. Jaden fails to make an easy interception or completely blows the coverage or just doesn't wrap up on a tackle and his assignment scores. Dabo says, "you think that kind of play is going to help us win a bowl game?" and possibly goes a little farther than that.
9) Kid's feelings are hurt, his teammates rightfully say, "hey man, it's one play, don't get down on yourself, we'll get the next one." That doesn't mean they disagree with Dabo--they're just being good teammates and friends.
10) Kid cries to dad and says, "Coach has paid more attention to me today than he has all season and it was negative." This could well be absolute truth, but thin-skinned son has now angered his college defensive player of the year and Super Bowl champion father who has an axe to grind because he heard one side of the story.
My post is partly speculation, partly observed facts, and completely feasible with no one telling a lie yet Dabo still retains his status as a good guy. He will not go down in history as a Mark Mangino or Mike Rice or Larry Eustachy.
