with 58 other PMs. Every time the leader asks a question, people answer it in the Teams Chat. My phone and watch have notifications on and it buzzes each one about 55 times and my computer keeps making the dinging sound. Then people keep asking questions in the chat. This is absolutely maddening. I've got to mute all these notifications.
FUCK ALL THESE PEOPLE.

I think that is the mentality of some people. When we have big calls like that we get lots of folks commenting "thanks" just to show they are participating or something.

because our IT guy makes you download some kind of tracking thing. So absolutely not.
I just have my work email forwarded to my personal email so I can read them but not reply

They probably just want to put a policy on the phone that means if you lose the phone, they wipe all their data (Emails, email downloads, maybe texts etc) off if it.
From a governance/security perspective, it's not a bad idea. Probably not the best idea (for you or the school) to have an email conversation between you and the drivers ed guy about the cheerleaders new skirt length get out into the media.

That's what I DON'T miss the most! Just because they give you a phone doesn't mean they should call or text you. My boss caught heyal. Rest of us had a buffer and a Duty Officer we rotated weekly to talk to the crazies, management, and other agencies 24/7. Do that one week a month and you have earned your pay for the month. Eh, it was a fair trade for the retirement I have now. I miss the POWER I yeilded!!

Just turned 95% off on the watch. I like to have them on the phone though, so I can go downstairs and watch TV while still being "connected" just in case.
Tides are turning the other way though, trying to be more disconnected.

I used to want to be connected all the time, because I figured I'd rather find out about something now rather than wait until later to have it come out of left field to hit me in the face.
I've completely gone opposite of that in the last couple years. I've been thinking lately (especially since I got my new phone) of taking all of their stuff off MY phone. They aren't paying me anything for their access, and it doesn't appear being proactive is validated through compensation.
The only reason I even keep that stuff on there now is that if I am outside or running errands or goofing off throughout the day...I can answer like I'm at my desk.

My work knows not to call/text after a certain time and they can email me anytime but I'm most likely not going to answer.
