may be great but I wont give him clicks just like I dont w AJC or Carvell

I hate Doyel

Oct 11, 2013, 9:58 AM

sure Spurrier deserves to get some crap over this, but Doyel is a lowlife sensationalist who will write whatever he thinks will get him the most clicks.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hear hear. I don't care if Doyel has taken to writing epic

Oct 11, 2013, 10:02 AM

poems to glorify Clemson. The guy is a sensationalist hack. He's the worst type of sports "journalist"...the type that seems to exude bitter resentment toward the subject matter he covers.

money for his company.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's taking the easy way out though

Oct 11, 2013, 11:27 AM

he's writing things that stir up the masses instead of articles that require skill.

Comparing Gregg Doyel to the writers who are actually talented is like comparing Paris Hilton to Natalie Portman or Jesse Palmer to Kirk Herbstreit or Todd Blackledge.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I wonder if Stevil will try to have Gregg Doyle fired too?***

All Spurrier did was give ESPN,

Oct 11, 2013, 10:04 AM

and everyone else that overhyped Clowney, their "get out of jail free" card.

a pretty good perspective

Oct 11, 2013, 10:06 AM

regardless of Clowney's motivation, Spurrier could have easily navigated this if he had chosen

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

All Spurrier cares about navigating is a golf ball

Oct 11, 2013, 10:19 AM

This entire situation, from the beginning, was NOT handled at all. Now, Spurrier is trying to fix it with a statement or two.

I'll save you from having to read this article.

Oct 11, 2013, 10:16 AM

Spurrier did this to Clowney... it's his fault.

Rinse and repeat...

The End.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Doyel is a just an internet troll, and not even a good one

Oct 11, 2013, 10:26 AM

at that, but if he's going to troll someone, I'm glad it's them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Doyel is still mad we offered Gallman and Carter

Oct 11, 2013, 10:28 AM

You know, because offering 3* and 4* players off the best team in Georgia is unethical.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Perhaps spurrier is trying to ruin Clowney's draft status

Oct 11, 2013, 10:36 AM

so he will have to come back for another year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not sure that will even be an option for him.....

Oct 11, 2013, 10:41 AM

if you believe the rumors that Clowney completely stopped attending his classes weeks ago.

If true, he'll be academically inelligible to even participate in any bowl game to which $CU is invited.

Doyle's right. Spurrier did throw Clowney under a bus ...

Oct 11, 2013, 10:50 AM

The big question: why is anyone surprised that spurrier would do that to one of his players. He did it to his QBs for years at Florida.

Jessica Palmer still loves him though***

Classic Spurrier jackas-sing.

I know people despise Doyel, but I love the guy.

I think he does a great job.

Re: Doyel blasts Spurrier over Clowney

"If he wants to play, we'll welcome him to come play for the team if he wants to."

When I first heard that, my immediate reaction was, "Whoa!"

For a coach to say that means there is a serious problem.

If Dabo had said that, I would believe that he had had some serious conversations with the player, and he was giving one final attempt to get the player's attention before giving up.

With Spurrier's motor mouth, though, one can't make that assumption. There are obviously some problems in paradise, but, beyond the obvious, it isn't clear where or why.
