FSU earned it and did what they were supposed to do but unfortunately the playoffs are about the Four best teams And not conference champions. I don’t believe in automatic conference champions should get a bid in in that case. Louisville would’ve got it and they won last night.!!! FSU did what they had to do even with Jordan Travis. I’m not convinced they would beat any of those four teams in front of them.

I meant if Louisville had one last night they would’ve been a conference champion that they did so I’m glad that’s not automatic

Why not just pick the 4 best teams regardless of record?
Do losses matter or not? Apparently for certain teams they don't matter. History is littered with great teams that didn't get in because they lost games.
The Bama team that lost against Clemson and Watson was a "better" team. Should they have split the title because they might win 4 out of 5 times?

they went on the road in a hostile environment with their 2nd string QB and handled business, and they looked better than Bama did at Auburn doing it.
It's unfair to go along with the narrative that FSU isn't one of the best just b/c it justifies putting Bama in. Like I said previously, these same "experts" all said we had zero chance against Bama when we played them in California for the title. They were the end all be all and we weren't in their league. What happened there?
Fact is FSU did everything they were were supposed to do and even won some of their toughest games on paper without Travis. Their offense might not be as good as others, but their D certainly is. Bama lost a game at home. FSU didn't even without Travis. They deserved their shot!

The four "best" teams might be Michigan, Ohio State, Bama and Georgia. But you can't actually know that. That's why actual results have to matter.
If Bama is one of the four "best" teams then why isn't Ohio State or Georgia? Once you start arbitrarily ignoring certain results, why not keep going and ignore others as well?
Why is Washington in when they would be a Vegas underdog to Michigan, Georgia, Bama, and Ohio State? If you want to argue that Bama should be in because they are one of the "best" teams, then why not just ignore all of the results and put the Vegas favorites in there?

No they aren't they had A GOOD game against an overrated UGA. You should never over look a 2 score loss at home, that's sickening. They struggled all year against mediocre comp.

The games are played on the field and bookies know that betting money will be on Bama and Texas. Washington is the most complete team in the playoffs and I don't see them struggling with any of these teams.

Based on those metrics, Clemson would have never competed for a national title, because most people across the nation didn't think we would ever beat the likes of Nebraska, Bama, Ohio State, Oklahoma et al.
