If we are going to do NIL

Then you should have to sign a contract forever how many years with a school.

Even pros that get paid have contracts and can’t just live when they feel like it or because the coach hurt their feelings

you mean contracts just like the coaches sign that they break whenever they want?

The player signs a contract...

...with the person/organization that is giving him the money. NIL money is not coming from the school. If the person giving Charlie Cornerback 100,000 bucks and the two of them agree that Charlie must stay to Big Tech U for 3 years or he will have to give the money back, then they can put it in the contract and both sign it.

But, Big Tech U can't require Charlie to stay at that school because Charlie signed a contract with Mike Moneybags.

I dont know about contracts. But Gene Smith, Ohio State’s athletic director, thinks there may be federal involvement in NIL happening relatively soon.
“I'm hopeful that over the next couple of years – if not this year, over the next couple of years – we get something federally,” Smith said. “I think we need something. This summer might be challenging. It might be challenging for that to happen. But the fact that it's been positioned by (Rep.) Carey puts it in a great position to be considered. So I'm glad it's there. And we'll see how it rolls.”
He mentions how its still the wild west because of different state laws and the NCAA’s limit on what they can enforce.

NIL has nothing to do with the school.
