For a permanent play partner should be establish. Of course CLemson FSU GT already have but this is what I purpose

Totally agree with the concept, would change some of the matchups.
I agree with trying to reestablish the Tex - Tex A&M rivalry because there is to much money on the table not to get over those sour grapes.
Eventually that game needs to be played again. Give em a couple years for the dust to settle.

I don't like the idea of permanent rivalries cross-division.

it is unfair to teams with relatively tougher rivals. If two teams have to play every year, then put them in the same division.

these are cross conference not cross division.
This would be an SEC - Big 12 challenge type thing.

SEC West: Arky, LSU, A&M, Ole Miss, Miss St., Mizzou
Big 12 North: Pitt, WVU, ND, Louisville, Cincy, Syracuse
Big 12 Plains: ISU, OU, OSU, KU, KSU, BYU
Big 12 South: Baylor, GA Tech, Miami, Texas, TCU, TT
Big 10 East: Md, UVA, UNC, Duke, Rutgers, UConn
Big 10 Central: OSU, PSU, Indiana, Purdue, Mich St., NW
Big 10 West: Michigan, Minn, Wis., Ill., Iowa, Nebraska
PAC 12 North: Ore, Or.St, Wash, Wash St., Cal., Stanford
PAC 12 South: Ariz., ASU, Utah, Col, USC, UCLA
PAC 12 East: Air Force, Army, Navy, B.C., Wake, USF
With 18 in 3 divisions you can group geographically, play those 5 and rotate two from each of the other 2 divisions. Everyone plays Everyone else every three years if you don't do home & home on the out of div. games.
3 Division Champs and 1 at large with best remaining conf. record for a 4 team playoff for the Conf. championship.
It expands cable markets and adds content.
For the PAC it gives them teams in MD, NY, NC, FL, & MA for an East coast boost and keeps them from having to take area schools they don't want. The top 72 colleges get in the upper tier. The Playoff structure is conference champions. Bowls for all other teams finishing 7-5 or better.

Don't see SEC going to 16 teams

I don't think they can get Notre Dame and they are the only team that could be worth the money needed to go to 16 teams. In order for it to be viable whoever they brought in would need to added an extra 96M a year to their TV package Vatech and Ncstate aren't doing that. Also a SEC network would be in that marker already just like I can get the Big10 network in south carolina.96M is only an extra 3M a year per team they aren't going to get anywhere near that with anyone but Notre Dame...

I had essentially the same idea. It's the next best thing to our being in the same conference.
