That hurts but it’s the right season to get the backups and freshman some experience.

Praying Antonio gets better soon!

Hey Humble, just want to say that is a fine Horse you have there in your profile pic, and I've been a die-hard horse lover my entire life. And at one time in my life, I worked as a scout for a professional bird dog trainer that competed in about every field trial in the US and Canada. In that profession It would be impossible to train and compete with professional field trial bird dogs without being on horse back, and that had me riding 5-6 days every week.

Being in SC, we have a lot of poisonous snakes, so we had to take a pretty large pack of some of our best dogs to Canada for summertime training, so I was in the saddle pretty much all year long but there were never any complaints from me bc as I've said I love horses.

With training competitive field trial bird dogs, we rode Tennessee Walking Horses mostly, but as the scout for my handler at the field trials, I would take a small quarter horse bc as a scout, I was the one that always had to be down in the woods to assure that our dogs stayed out in front where they could be observed by the judges and the people in the gallery, the worst thing for a handler is for his dog to be lost in the woods somewhere on point, bc field trial dogs will hold their point until the bird just leave, or they are being flushed by the handler once the judge observes the dog on point, and my job was to make sure that our dog was always out front, and not lost on point somewhere.

It was against the rules for a scout to ever interfere with the dog other going to look for them if they were out of sight to long, there were times when I would heal the dog or put him on my horse and take him out front and turn him loose when I was sure he could see or hear my handler, LOL, it's doing things right that helps your dog to become a champion, and I did my part bc, I got 10% of the winnings when we won the field trial. My handler was known as being one of the best trainers in that business, and we won a lot of field trials, and our share of the championships, and with my help as the scout;)

He really looked good and gave a boost to the offense when he was in last night. Forgot how good he was…

Sounds like the dreaded turf toe. That could be a very unpredictable recovery duration.

Doesn’t sound good at all.

I suspect that he may miss the remainder of this season. Hopefully he’ll be ready for our bowl game in mid-December.

If hes out for ND which it sounds like it will go beyond that

Oct 22, 2023, 7:44 PM

then we need to seriously consider RS him. He’s played 4 games. Can’t play another regular season game. Could still play a bowl if we make one

That was my question - how many he has played. If only 4 up to now and he is missing multiple games than I would absolutely shut him down and get him well for next year.
Time to get Vizzini (and anyone else that could be in contention for QB) his 4 games as well. We need to have a serous QB battle this spring!

Well well … if he’s played in only 4 games, then by all means RS him this year.

Prayers that it's nothing serious. Maybe the coots game but wouldn't surprise me if he calls it a year if he can still take a medical.

Several times yesterday, Stellato was open. In fact, looked like he was frustrated one time when he'd beat his one on one on the boundary. Could have been 6.

Re: TNET: Antonio Williams injury update

Stellato wasn’t the only open WR that had a scoring opportunity had CK2 seen him.

B.Collins was open for an easy short pass TD in either the first OT or the second OT.

CK2 had scrambled to his left, the receivers had broken off their routes and were improvising, and Collins was wide open, standing on the goal line, directly in front of CK2. CK2 was still fixated on Brinningstool, as he had been since Q3. Pass incomplete instead of the TD.

Collins’ frustration was evident, although to his credit there were no theatrics from him. He just stood on the goal line, all by himself and directly in front of where CK2 was when he threw the incomplete pass to Brinningstool, as the other players on both teams started moving back to their positions for the next play.

Man, something is wrong with our strength and conditioning.

Oct 22, 2023, 8:50 PM

No way a team can have 3+ years of injuries like this where players come back and are immediately hurt again.

Im calling it first - this was the LAST game we saw AW0 in The Paw

His sophomore year has been fraught with injury, lack of surrounding personnel, coaching incompetence.

AW0 will join Shipley in the portal in Dec23.

Why would they leave as starters, especially Ship. He's on the bench if he goes anywhere they have speed at RB. AW is pretty much our #1 receiver. That would make no sense at all.

Re: Im calling it first - this was the LAST game we saw AW0 in The Paw

The portal poses great risk to us.

If our passing game remains so bad, then our WRs might see that their chances of piling up big receiving stats would be with a team that has a very young, but already proven QB. Most teams in the country would like to have A.Williams. Ditto for T.Brown. B.Collins is eligible for a fifth year (COVID); I’d love for him to stay with us, but I could foresee him transferring to OR State to play with fellow 5th year (COVID) player DJU.

(*). If our WR talent departs, then Shipley and Mafah would be facing defenses that load the box on us all year. That is a tough way for a RB to generate good rushing stats, even if they both get a ton of carries.

Hes just scrounging to find something to gripe about

You know it's sad this is a nfl caliber player but they will never take him if they do they are crazy. Ask player's up through the 90s how many played with broken fingers brused ribs etc just to help the team or to make it to the nfl we have a generation of wussys now

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

NFL Career (?) just saying. missing a whole sophomore season ruins your chances

People keep talking about NFL chances. Only 1.5% of college-level players make it to the NFL. Given the 98.5% of players WILL NOT make it to the NFL we should be more worried about whether this kid can finish his education and actually do something with his life.
