If the South Carolina and Clemson schedules were Switched...

I would still expect the Tigers to go 11-0 in the mighty SUC. I would expect the Lamecocks to go 6-5 in the lowly ACC. All I hear is how tough it is to win in the SUC. Well... it is for the teams that suck.

Wake - toss-up Citadel - likely win Virginia - loss Miami - loss Georgia Tech - toss-up Cuse - toss-up Boston College - toss-up Notre Dame - loss FSU - toss-up Pitt - loss Virginia Tech - loss
Most likely scenario is 4 - 7

Georgia Tech would beat U of SUC.
GT is coming up in a big way. They are still not far away from the shadows of the flex bone - but they are getting there. Collins will have them challenging Clemson with the recruiting grounds he has plus his energy and reputation. The QB they have will be the first of many spread types who thrive at the Georgia Institute of Technology!

If there is one game on our schedule that scares me even a little it is at Notre Dame. With that same thought process, I could see us dropping the game at Florida. So 9-1 (The schedule is for 10 games, not 11). And if the coots were playing our schedules, they would lose to Notre Dame, Miami and my guess Pittsburg, for a 8-3 record.

Are you talking the 2020 gamecocks? Because maybe the best gamecock teams in program history could get to 8 wins here...this years team is going to struggle with Vandy and Kentucky and Missouri. And all 3 of those teams are substantially worse than al but 3-4 ACC teams. USC this year is equivalent to Syracuse. They’d get 5-6 wins against our schedule tops.

I swear to you I am being honest and keeping my "heart" out of it when I say, "we wouldn't drop one to Florida"! Mullens has had really good teams and just "dropped the ball" before. UF and Clemson talent for talent is equal. Coaching is no contest in favor of Clemson. Built for handling the moment: way in favor of Clemson!
U of Suc folks who raise this argument every year are just like a rectum - all kinds of "waste" comes out of it and them!
I was watching the replay of Tulane vs. Southern Miss and they were talking about: rotating players and getting all these players experience. The big elephant in the room being - that is what Clemson was doing pre-covid is yet another clue the CU coaching staff is two steps ahead of the pack!
