Is this outside of what already has been promised to them through PSLF?

This may be slightly off topic, but Biden does deserve a mountain of credit for streamlining and reducing bureaucratic gotchas that made pursuing PSLF rather frightening.

Who ends up paying off the loans? Where does the money come from? Or are the loans just forgiven without payment?

matter of law, and people make life decisions based following the PSLF track, the Feds have a duty to ensure they hold up their end of the bargain and until Biden stepped in, they were not. People would spend a decade in the program only to find out at the end there was some procedural issue that invalidated their forgiveness request.

What Covid policy of his was idiotic? He left most decisions up to the states. Most blue states shut down their entire economies, demonized those who didn’t wear masks, arrested citizens for being in public places, and kept schools closed months longer than they needed to be.

I can agree with this. No State should’ve ever shutdown and Fauci should’ve been ousted earlier. I’m Trumps defense this was uncharted territory that the whole world struggled with. I believe it was Sweden that didn’t shutdown at all and had similar death rates to us.

its rhetoric.
Operation Warp Speed was a limited government masterpiece and should have been a defining hallmark of the Trump admin (which there are few). MAGA's irrational reaction to COVID vaccines have made this impossible.
Trump should have put Fauci on a much larger leash, and would have if he was the Strong Fighter Leader MAGA pretends him to be, but I think Trump was trying to do the best he could with the information he had at the time. And yet, if MAGA were consistent, they should be crucifying Trump for his response and his coddling of Fauci.
Then there is the recklessly inflationary and wastefully corrupt PPA, which was only necessary because we shut down (which, see above). Nevertheless, Trump signed it, and it was a disaster in implementation, even if morally it was required because government put so many people out of jobs with shut downs.
This is the problem with radical, partisan rhetoric. You have to kill your own calf if you want to be consistent.

I am at this stage. It's a tough call in a way, but college is kind of scam for most majors at this stage. People have been duped to an extent. How much is the total student debt nationally?

and was not the "anybody forgiveness" Biden tried that got shut down. It was based on years of service in the public sector, but due to poor administration, many who deserved it under the rules weren't getting it.
I like that program way better than Biden and Left just wanting to pay off everybody's student loan debt.

is that it's a little bit too broad to be most effective at its core mission of bringing talent to rural or underserved communities. My wife qualifies because her hospital is an NPO, but it's also a major system in a metro area.
But Biden absolutely deserves credit for making it more fair to the people who have pursued that path, only to be tricked out of their due at the end.
