.... I wonder how much of this applies to us at Clemson? Is Clemson too now priced in the "elite" range?

My entire undergrad EECE degree cost me $7K-8K over the 7 semesters it took complete 139 semsester hours in 1972-12/1975 range. It was THE bargain of my lifetime.

Go Tigers, let us stay affordable, and let us beat UK and run down ACC in basketball this year!!!

Affordable and college don’t go together anymore.

I was in the Auburn area not long ago and had never seen the campus. I decided to check it out. Except for the building that resembles Tillman Hall, nothing else on the campus is like Clemson. Even the football stadium is crowded in the middle of jumbled up mess.

The only thing I found appealing in Auburn was a convenience store with low gasoline prices.

Holy Cow! I know things of course cost a LOT more than when I attended in early to mid 70s, but this is crazy. Assuming suggested personal expenses it comes to $35,000/year for IN-STATE! In my time it was about $2,000 to $2,500 in-state per YEAR, depending upon how often I indulged in ice cream and any late night pizza or vasuvian steak sandwich cravings.

My education was quite good. That and a life time of hard work and love of learning has given me a career and earnings beyond my dream. Where can a young person of limited means but willingness to work hard go these days for a good STEM education?

Very true. A student with limited means and a good gpa with great test scores can’t even sniff a school like Clemson anymore.
