ASU offensive coordinator Mike Norvell. He runs a very similar style of offense as he worked under Morris and Malzahn at Tulsa. His offense is averaging 36.7 points per game and averaging over 450 yds per game. He would be one of my top choices if Morris accepts a HC job within the next few yrs

He went to college in Arkansas. He is not from out west. He will be a head coach soon most likely.

Good choice but he will be a HC before Morris. He knows how to adjust his gameplan in game.

there's been many, Morris has adjusted his gameplan as needed to win the game
Sometimes teams are better than you. Sometimes teams lose. If you're going to say coaches didn't adjust in the losses, what about all the wins? Speaking of wins, are there 10 teams in the country with more wins than Clemson since Morris got here? That answer is no, and Morris is the key reason.
Morris is one of the best in the business. Obviously. Does he make the absolute correct call on every single play, especially in fan hindsight? Of course not, but then again nobody does or has in the history of the game.

I agree ASU OC is lights out but I think he gets a head coach gig soon. I'd love ECU OC imagine what he could do with our skill players.

don't realize the QB situation we have been in. We were very fortunate to have Tahj the last 4 years as his arm and running ability outweighed his shortcomings in decisions once pressured in the pocket. And don't forget the breakaway speed of Andre Ellington.
I view Cole as a good high school QB that we landed when the transition to Dabo as HC was being made and other schools were using it against us - we couldn't land a REAL blue chip QB, but Cole had the size, arm, and genes to be a potentially good college QB. We missed out on the Deshaun Watsons of those classes and it was records being set by Nuk and Sammy the last 3 years that finally started making high school QBs pay attention.
The offense is night and day with DS versus CS in the game. Second and third receiver options become available, and the threat to run is back on the table.
This post is not intended to bash CS, but point out how much more potent our offense is with a more effective QB... and in turn, why Morris' offense has been impacted this season.

ECU was very impressive vs Temple. 10 hard fought points! Then again it was a high pressure game so it's understandable the O choked. Those Owls are known for being tough.

When Morris leaves Jeff Scott will be promoted to OC

He has been groomed for four years now. It is best for team and recruiting to do this. Why do we want to fix something that isn't broke.

Look at Oregon they have replaced OC and hc. They have a good system in place and just promote from within.

I'd rather have ECU OC and leave Scott at what he does best recruit and groom WR. The grass would be just as green with ECU OC or ASU let's be real.

Scott won't stay if someone else gets OC, he would probably go with Morris as his OC and take his recruiting skills with him.

I don't think he would necessarily would follow Morris but he might look elsewhere if Dabo doesn't get him a shot at OC. It would be safe for Scott to let Dabo hire another OC that's similar to Morris's offense so he can learn under him also. I do think Scott will become a OC one day but I just hope he's patient and doesn't rush anything

Norvell would be #1 on my list as well. I like Lincoln Riley at East Carolina but he's an Air Raid guy, more on the Mike Leach/Dana Holgerson tree, and I dunno how well that would fly at Clemson. It's definitely not the same system, relies a whole lot more on quick, short, accurate throws and getting the ball out, the line splits are completely different, requires a whole different kind of lineman and QB than we've been recruiting here.
Maybe I'm holding his dad against him, but I'd be leery of Jeff Scott. I also well-remember the fiasco that ensued when we bumped up Billy Napier. Sure, Scott might be a great OC someday, but I'd like to see him prove it elsewhere before we just roll the dice and see. For the $1.3 million we're willing to pay, I'd much rather have a proven commodity like Norvell than take the chance on somebody unproven.
