Truck headed to Columbia overturns spilling tons of human waste near Carowinds

FORT MILL, SC (AP) - Authorities say a truck carrying 18 tons of treated human waste has crashed in Fort Mill as the driver tried to get onto Interstate 77.
Emergency responders said the sludge came from a Charlotte, North Carolina, municipal treatment plant and has been treated enough to not be hazardous.
Authorities say the trucker was taking the waste to a Columbia landfill when he lost control on an access ramp to I-77 at Carowinds Boulevard near the North Carolina state line. The driver was not hurt, and no one else was involved in the wreck.
Officials have called in heavy equipment to scoop the waste into another truck.
South Carolina troopers say the truck driver will be cited for driving too fast for conditions.

dumping in (on) SC. The state of NC has shown a great proclivity for sending dangerous garbage to SC rather than dealing with it themselves. Diverting riverwater, their behavior within the Southeastern Compact, the list goes on and on.
