Should the KO be suspended as a part of the game? Or should

the kicker be backed up another 5 yards.
Not one KO in the Clemson-Ga Tech game was returned. All were touchbacks.
In other games and situations, many KOs were fair caught rather than returned. In still others, KOs that were returned failed to get back to the 25 yard line. Several successful KO returns were penalized for illegal blocks, putting the return team in a deep hole.
Successful, un-penalized long KO returns are extremely rare today.
What is your opinion on the KO as a valid part of today’s college game? Keep it as is? Amend the rules? Do away with it entirely?
The Powers That Be have purposely set up kickoffs as they

are now to minimize returns, and escargo, to minimize injuries DURING kickoff returns. If it weren't for the potential game changing nature of muffed punts, etc, they would probably institute a rule that says all punts must be fair caught, if caught at all, as well.
There is a really concerted effort to take the violence out of football, which will fail, since the very nature of full contact football is violent.
