I wonder where Chase Brice ranks with Armanti Edwards

On the All-time APP State fan favorite list.
At this point you’d have to give it to Armanti Edwards 3 time National Championship QB albeit on the Division I AA level. Only 2 time Walter Payton award winner, etc.

However, let’s see how Chase finishes the season. I saw on social media the other day about him, scoring 40 points in one quarter was the 3rd most exciting thing to happen to him this year.

My vote is Armanti. One of the biggest differences now

is the amount of scholarships. When APP was 1-AA they only had 63 schollys as opposed to 85 now as FBS. Also the transfer portal has changed the game, I think that will level the playing field more than it will make the rich richer. Brice went to APP as a former 5* QB that transferred twice. He wasn't going to APP as a 5* QB out of HS. These smaller schools can benefit from the scraps and leftovers of the big time programs and put together some pretty talented teams.

I was at APP 98-02 and we would regularly play teams like Wake and win, but you could tell the talent difference between the 1st and 2nd strings. Now these teams can start to build depth with good talent and all of a sudden the "cupcakes" aren't as cupcakey.

All that to say, I think that puts what Armanti did in perspective to today's "modern era" of CFB. While the ATM game was a big upset, the Michigan game was more shocking and stunning, and cemented Armanti's place as one of, if not the best/favorite, players for APP.

I think the Tennessee Titans....New York Giants...or Minnesota Vikings could be landing spots for him as a steal.

App St only one 2 championships with Edward's at QB. The first of the three peat was Richie Williams starting as QB.

I saw Edwards and Willie Korn square off in high school and they put up like 850 yards passing and rushing an unbelievably amazing offensive football game.
