I was curious where all this "You don't come into 'THE DOME'

and win" talk was coming from, so I checked on 'Cuse's "Dome" records recently.
Since '08 they're 18-16 "in the Dome"...
Since '11, they're 10-4 with wins over good UL and WVU teams, but they also have wins in there over powerhouses like Wagner, Tulane (twice), Stony Brook, Toledo, and Rhode Island.
It seats, at capacity, less than 50,000 (some 3,000 of whom will likely be Tiger fans). Can it get loud, yeah probably. Is it that intimidating? I doubt it...
If the Tigers come out swinging and take "the crowd" out of it, I think we roll in this one.
42-17.

From what I've read, they're struggling to sell out the place. On homecoming.

One does not simply come into the Dome and win, eh?

Well, I suspect we'll have to play a few downs before we win, but I don't think it'll be too many.

Unfortunately, we haven't had much of a reason to make the Dome a great venue for college football since Donovan McNabb graduated. We started going downhill when we thought we had Michael Vick wrapped up and lost him in the 11th hour, and had no backup plan for him.
After that, the failure to land a marquee quarterback helped expedite Paul Pasqualoni's ouster as head coach. And then of course was the Greg Robinson debacle, which set the program back more than it perhaps ever has been. Honestly, if not for Dwight Freeney almost singlehandedly carrying the team to 10 wins in 2001, we wouldn't have a single top 25 final ranking since McNabb graduated. Robinson's four year tenure completely destroyed us.
So, Doug Marrone and now Scott Shafer have been stuck trying to dig the program out of the grave in which Robinson left it, and we're making progress. Unfortunately that means the fanbase has been left incredibly disillusioned based on the past 14 years, despite a couple of solid seasons under Marrone (last year, by the end of the year, we were probably the best team in the Big East...I know, I know, the Big East sucked, yada yada...but still).
Man, I'm way off topic here. I think I can circle back around and say that on the one hand, it's a bit unfair to say based on recent results the Dome isn't tough to play in, because overall history says otherwise. However, lately it has been tough, but that's mainly because of the craptastic efforts of the end of Pasqualoni's tenure and t he entirety of the Robinson era. It chased away the casual fans, and left only the diehards in the stands. Hopefully we're turning a corner.
Good luck to you guys the rest of the season. Just not tomorrow, I'm hoping (I'm fully expecting a Syracuse loss, because I'm a realist...but I'm not counting out the possibility of an enormous upset).

and remind people that there are events at the Dome not involving Jim Boeheim, I think it could very well be an intimidating venue.
I just don't see it as such right now--the confidence, even bravado, coming from the 'Cuse players just seems misplaced right now.

And let you win. I'm glad for the syracuse confidence. Hopefully it will remind our boys that they have to execute. I was at duke in 2004. If duke can beat Clemson in 2004... I fully believe 2013 syracuse can beat 2013 Clemson.

Lol. The confidence and bravado seem misplaced? What the #### should they feel or say. "I think we have no choice?" Lol. You definitely didn't play college sports.
