In the article provided in the link below, you will notice that Florida State has raided the transfer portal yet again. All top tier players from a top tier program. When Clemson travels to Tallahassee and walks the dog with FSU this upcoming season, people will then realize that building an entire starting roster with the transfer portal does very little to ensure victory. You actually have to coach the team, develop the players, and design a cultural atmosphere that establishes cohesion, teamwork, humility, selflessness, and moral character. Clemson will win the ACC next season and whenever that happens, I will point to this article to remind everyone that the transfer portal is not the savior of all things football.
As an added effect to my stance on this, I hope that Clemson is known for being a program that doesn't use the portal yet still wins Championships. Should Clemson accomplish that feat, it develops a reputation among college football athletes that Clemson is THE ELITE school to play for and that a player must be accepted to join the roster. In this regard, an offer actually means something to a player whenever Clemson comes to call. GO TIGERS!

Unfortunately, it's a very silent majority. The theme you present must be promoted and become common among the brethren.

Furthermore we had them beat this past season. They were very fortunate to walk out of Death Valley with a win.

The portal worked for them last year. I think they will implode this year. Team chemistry is very important and you can lose a team really fast by adding unknown players. I don't know why a HS player would even consider FSU.

The portal failed FSU miserably...they could not field a competitive football team for the Orange Bowl and should have made themselves the laughing stock of college football...of course many see them as victims...poor injuns denied their place as best bought football team in america...ain't it grand...now we have a good excuse to quit...Norvell knows what he has...steal a few more...who cares!

Is to implement rules and regulations that the courts will accept. The NFL mastered this years ago. Start there.

I think your second paragraph is exactly Dabo's strategy for Clemson. He is taking the chance to make Clemson THE most coveted place to play football. If it works it will last for generations.

I agree and to add context - last season, all those portal additions were added to the highest percentage of returning offensive production in all of college football. That’s not a bad recipe for success. They’ll be trying to build from scratch next year.
