Talent wise, we have the horses to compete for the most part. We lack an elite receiver. We lack a good slot receiver. I don’t think Williams will be in the slot. Which, is where he should be. If we can find another Tee Higgins, Nuk, or Watkins then Williams would be one of the best slot guys in the game. Schematically things need to be cleaned up and we need to see true adjustments at the half.

Defensively. Goodwin took a top 5 defense and back then into top 50 ranking in multiple categories. That’s what happens when you hand the keys to a Ferrari to a 15 year old boy with a learners permit. The car gets crashed. Not to say Goodwin can’t become elite. Going from the best DC to a noob was painful. We have the talent to be a top 5-10 defense. Goodwin always seemed to call he wrong fit. Too many explosive plays of 20+ given up. We got tough in the red zone. But, the defense gave up leverage too often and busted too many plays. You could count on BV to make the adjustments and slow the other team down.

Based on our talent we’re a top 10 team. Based on our coordinators we’re a division II team. Of course, they could make a playoff run and I’d be ecstatic. Reality is we are chasing the Noles right now. Norvell has built FSU into a really good team and added some studs through the portal. We struggle to win he ACC again. IF we can even win it. Prove me wrong! I want to win it all every year! In my estimation this team is 15 preseason.
