Last nights WBB game

Highest ratings of all time. Here is what’s wrong with everything …

- I use to watch the WBB tourney and thought it was quite entertaining and good fundamental basketball.

- all this changed after last years final 4. All the Dawn racism drama and the LSU drama after the final turned me off.

- I didn’t watch yesterday’s game because of this , and they have doubled down on this drama- resulting in high ratings.

- all of sports have been doing the same thing - and the ratings are soaring. Yet, people like me are turning it off - I guess I’m now just in the minority.

I want good sports to come back. That’s all.

I watched most of the game specifically to see Clark

If anything about race, politics, or anything other than basketball was discussed it must have been during the 1st quarter which I missed. I don't know why people watch the cacks play, literally, someone explain it to me their games are so boring. Just a bunch of giant women backing smaller women down and shooting layups; snooze. Iowa and Clark play wide open, they're Jerry Tarkanian's running rebs.

I watched it and thought it was good. Although there were a lot of flops

At least they didn't call every flop a foul.

And, at least the trash talking was a minimum.

I agree that it is a shame that people's interest in sports seems to be enhanced by negativity, like beef between players, controversy actions by coaches, or other external drama. But I'll admit I often tend to be the same way. When 2 teams have bad blood or external narratives exist, it raises the tension and often makes it more exciting to watch. Maybe that speaks to something unfortunate about human nature, but that's a philosophical discussion for another day and a wiser man.

The rematch drove the ratings and Clark is the main draw

that the only people who really care about wimminz hoops are parents who have kids playing or fans of schools who have absolutely nothing else to cheer about. There are only about three or four teams that have any realistic chance of winning a championship and, for the most part, the teams play a really boring style of basketball. The increase in viewership is fueled by all the drama from a handful of coaches and players, not the game itself IMHO. That said, I do believe there is significantly more national interest in the college game compared to the WNBA.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

You'd be wrong about that, although I respect your right to your own opinion.

I like to watch exceptional athletes ply their trade, be they men or women. And, I will get turned off, and tune OUT when political BS enters the arena. Thus the reason I do not watch the NBA, ever since Lebron James thought the political views of someone who dribbles a basketball for a living ought to be worth listening to on a routine basis. Sir Charles has it right. He said "Man, I played BASKETBALL for a living. Why should anyone care what I think about ANYTHING other than MAYBE basketball."

The ratings are up because of Caitlin Clark***
