Not because of money, but because if I don't I will be dead upon 6 months of my last day of work.
I'm three weeks into six weeks of short term disability b/c of the shoulder surgery. I'm staying up too late, sleeping too late, eating like shidt, and drinking too much. Bored out of my mind. You can only watch reruns of Friends and Seinfeld so much.

I have been working 2 days a week, but Mrs ST still works full time, so it's just me, the dog, and TV the 3 days I'm off. It was fantastic the first 3 or 4 months, but I gradually fell into the habbits you are talking about, plus it got kind of boring. I sure as heck don't miss the pressure and deadlines and BS that goes along with work, but I miss the action and the interaction with customers and co-workers. I guess I found out I wasn't as fed up and lazy as I thought I was. I'm thinking about doing something "easy" that has very little stress or responsibility another day or two just to keep busy.

Since my cardiologist condemned me to live like a POS lazy bum I've built half a dozen houses, actually framing and trimming them. One 5200sf of floorspace I was cut man on every piece of wood in the place and did all the trim with one helper.
If, Lord willing, I ever finish this project car I'm going to take a part time job cleaning toilets or something rather than wasting away.
My God's mercy is everlasting so I'm going to die with my boots on.
