What ever happened to June graduations? Times have certainly changed since I walked across that stage. I had to tie my horse up on the horse parking lot on Bowman field.

Congratulations....there is nothing like returning as an alum to watch sporting events except returning to watch a child graduate as I did my daughter last year....wishing you nothing but the best in your future!!! Go Tigers!!!!🐅

I graduated in 1987, but I still vividly remember the day of my last exam. It was in a classroom on the 2nd floor of Riggs hall on a bright and sunny, cool and cloudless day. The classroom had at least 2 windows, which were both open to allow in the cool breeze.
When I finished the exam, I shook the hand of the professor, Dr. Lewis Fitch, who was also my electrical engineering advisor.
It was a very happy, but melancholy day. Like you, I knew I would miss being a Clemson student. Now, 37 years later, I have returned to campus hundreds of times and had two sons attend Clemson also. My love for the University has actually increased through the years.
Although your days as a student seem to be the end of something, from my example, you have a lot to look forward to. Good luck to you in your future!

I graduated just 2 years after you in 1989, though I entered as a freshman in 1984. I remember Fitch, though I don't think I ever had him as I was Computer Engineering. I have very similar memories of Riggs in the Spring with the windows open.

I stretched mine out as long as I could. My Dad finally said either graduate or get a job. So I was backed in a corner and had to take enough courses to graduate.

Clemson now I feel like I'm coming home (even though I've lived in Greenville and now Atlanta since graduating).
The feeling about being at Clemson will never leave you.

recognizable landmarks. Earle H.ell, the Chem E building, is still there, though!
I sure wish the old Clemson House neon sign could find a prominent home at the entrance of campus and be relit. It was always a beacon when returning anytime around dusk or later. You knew you had made it back HOME.

I graduated Fidday (50) years ago on May 10, 1974.. I had a small check list of items that had to be cleared up before I could be eligible to graduate. No outstanding parking tix, no over due books etc from Cooper Library, final grades sent in, dorm inspection (I lived off campus all 3 years), there were a few BS items to check off.
I had this fear in my last semester that my advisor had missed a class subject that was required for my major. All was right. I walked across the stage at Littlejohn at the tender age of 26.5 YO.

I was in the Class of 74. This week someone asked me who gave the graduation speech and I couldn't remember. I just remember waiting cross the stage and get my diploma.

Graduation is bittersweet, but it was mostly sweet for me. The Clemson I knew was long gone and I was ready to get out. The university is changing (has been for years), and most of the changes are not beneficial for the students and it negatively affects the overall experience. It's been years since I've felt the real, authentic "Clemson Family" atmosphere. Today, it's nothing more than a marketing strategy, sadly. I will always love Clemson, I will always bleed orange and I will always cherish the fond memories I have of my student days, but I'm very glad that I'm no longer up there lol.
Congratulations to you and best of luck on your future endeavors!

As a Mercer grad and being from Charleston, I was ALWAYS envious of my friends that either attended or graduated from Clemson....Only until I realized how Clemson played a vital role in making them just incredible human beings and positive contributors to our society.
Congrats on your accomplishments and good luck to you on all of your future endeavors. Never forget what you represent and stand on principle! Go Tigers!

Unfortunately, all mementos of it got incinerated less than a year later when the house I grew up in burned to the ground. I particularly hated losing pictures we had taken next to the bronze Tiger out in front of Littlejohn, which included my parents, and siblings, including older brother who had flown in all the way from New Jersey, just for my graduation.
Luckily, MOST of the edumucation stayed with me!

I don’t think any of us realize this until we are alumni, but the town of Clemson and Clemson University are wonderful places to come back to as alumni. More so than a lot of colleges and universities. But I am biased.
