to change.
Bottom line is nobody was going to beat Obama. He won by getting his people out yet again. Had nothing to do with his accomplishments or the issues. It was all political machine.
Quite frankly, I am disgusted with the right wing pundits attacking Romney now. Did he make some tactical errors? I'm sure he did. Would it have mattered? I don't believe so.
I see people worrying about whether our candidate was not conservative enough. Don't think it matters. McCain was a horrible candidate and I actually think Romney was a good candidate that has the skill set we actually need to move us back in the right direction.
I consider myself conservative and i guarantee Romney would have done some things that I personally don't like, but I don't believe my preferences are what's important. As Governor Christie said, we are going to have make some hard choices to right this ship.
So now we just have to wait out these next four years and hope we survive it. There is absolutely no evidence that things will be any different from the last four years considering recent history and the substance of ideas laid out by this administration.

Obama wins because of the evil political machine paying all the dark people to vote.
Republicans because of their ideals.
Here's the bottom line... The same people that thought Romney was going win, think the economy isn't getting better. And then you have the nerve to talk about democrats using a political machine.

From that standpoint, I pray I'm wrong.

I had that exact conversation with a very liberal Obama

voter the evening before the election. Very cordial and friendly, but very honest.
I said that we can't keep spending at this level, that some social programs - some that benefit the middle class and some that benefit the lower classes - are going to have to go. She said, "Well, Europe does it."
I managed to not give the Lassie head tilt but did say, "Yes, and they are paying the price, are they not?"
She waved her hand like, "Oh, that''s nothing", and went right back to why the govt needs to (fill in the blank). Simply didn't want to think about it. So yes, I do think liberals have a mythical European view, and want to chase it without examining any of the premises.

You could be right. Principles become inconvenient things

once the fruits of the principles are being enjoyed. You have to lose the benefits to remember where they came from.
I suppose its why people lose weight only to gain it. The principles are great when achieving a goal. Not so much when a little cheating doesn't seem to hurt.

Things today are much better than they were four years ago

However, things are still not great but the trajectory is good and things are incrementally improving. That is why Obama won.
Romney sounded too much like he was polishing the turd that was the W(t#) platform.
