I look at the Capons, and I see ...

Boston College. And I mean no offense to BC in that.
I see a team with an identity on offense, a powerful, talented running back, a seasoned senior quarterback and a serviceable smattering of wide receivers.
The Capons do have Ellington, which gives them an additional weapon BC did not possess.
BC also has Kevin Pierre-Louis at linebacker, and the Capons have no one near his skill at that position ... so let's call that a wash.
While I have no doubt today will be full of vitriol and bile and spleen venting about tomorrow's game, I'll add this small sliver of sanity and ask those better versed in the game to look at our schedule and pick out opponents who ran similar schemes and talent on the field against the Tigers.
And don't begin with anything resembling Florida State. Aside from Davis at RB, there's nothing resembling the Noles out there tomorrow, except the feather from Osceola's bonnet.
GEE-HAW'D!!

my coots the way they did against BC. CU pulled out a 4th qt win at home against those birds of a different feather. I don't believe that would get the job done at the Roach.
PS I thought the BC coach, who was all fired up most of the game, gave up with 5-6 minutes remaining and tried to just keep it close at the end.
We shall see, I always enjoy your posts, what the rivalry is all about.

If by that performance you mean ...

...holding the opposition's leading rusher to 70 yards and no score, then I'm with you there, Joel.
I see Ellington and Amidon as similar, good receivers and runners with a knack for YAC. Rettig and Shaw are similar as well: two experienced QBs with a good arm and ability to move.
the only reason that game was close was a couple of miscues by the D (notably the Amidon catch and run) and it is entirely possible the Capons could pull something similar. We've been know to go drain dead at inopportune times early in games this year and paying hefty penalties for it.
That said, if at the end of the game Davis has 70 yards and no scores, Lattimore is the only offensive player accounting for more than 100 yards, and we have 300 yards passing and 500 yards offense ... then sure, I'll take that level of play.
I'll even forgo Beasley's scoop and score.

The only thing that concerns me greatly about the game other than turnovers is the match up of our OL against their DL. If we can hold our own there, and get a bit of a running game going, then I really like our chances. The tempo we run at will cause cramp city on their D.

This trip like the venture up to NC State earlier this year. That was a tough environment and the first road trip for us. I think our D has made huge strides since then and we have more experience with road play. It will be interesting to see how we come out. This is very similar to last year with the stakes we are playing for. I believe with a win the Tigers take another step forward with the program. I really believe Venables D is the key to this game for us.
