I like Tillerson's response this morning....

Aug 9, 2017, 7:24 AM

#BREAKING: Tillerson: `I do not believe that there is any imminent threat' from North Korea; `Americans should sleep well at night' via @AP

I see the North Korean dictator as an attention-starved child. Viewed in that lens, Secretary Tillerson's response is more effective than President Trump's was yesterday. The President gave Kim exactly what he wanted, which was to be made to feel really important and powerful. Tillerson's response makes Kim seem less important.

Kim knows that the first time he touches American soil with his weapons, he'll be dead before the sun goes down.

Let the toddler tire himself out with his tantrum in the grocery store.

both are correct responses. Appeasing and funding their nuclear capabilities has led us to where we are now.

“What the president is doing is sending a strong message to North Korea in language that Kim Jong Un can understand, because he doesn’t seem to understand diplomatic language,” Tillerson said. “I think the president just wanted to be clear to the North Korean regime on the U.S. unquestionable ability to defend itself, will defend itself and its allies.”

How did we fund their nuclear capabilities?

Please to explain.

Actually, so did Bush. You have to remember that NK acquired it's first nuclear bomb 6 years into the Bush Administration.

Everybody wants to blame Dems or Reps. but the fact is that all Administrations have been unable to deal with NK.

The policy toward NK for decades? Buy them off.

Obama stopped the practice in 2011.

No, Bill did not give any money to NK.

Under the Agreed Framework, NK received about $500m worth of fuel oil from the US, and slightly more in food aid:
