I have 2 dry little mountain creekbeds (tiny, like 1' wide) running through my back property off a steep hill that feed into my pond. They fill up with leaves, branches, and new root growth over a summer/fall. After a rain like this, they come to life for a few days with little rock waterfalls and other cool features.
So when they become "active", I can go out and clear out the debris and such much easier and faster.
If I'm ever blessed to retire, one of my projects is to shape these creeks up and get them flowing again, even if artificially with a pump cycling water out of my pond. It is just so calming and relaxing to sit out there and listen to the flow of a "babbling brook".
