I need to say it again. Kathleen Swinney is the unsung hero of the Clemson Football program. She is supportive to her husband and the community. She is a great role model. She is a great representative of Clemson University. She is unselfish and loving towards her family and even the Clemson family. She supports her husband through the ups and downs. She is loyal and she does many charity events that truly help others.
We all know Coach Swinney is great for Clemson University, but Kathleen is just as great. What better First Lady could we ask for in regard to our Football Program and University? We are truly blessed to have Ms. Swinney.
She is a wonderful mother, wonderful wife, an educator, a philanthropist, and just an all-around great person. She never seeks the spotlight and she gives because she wants to and not because she has to.

I agree. I recall watching the players get off the bus at the 2016 ACC Championship game in Orlando. She gave each player a hug as they were getting off the bus. It was so genuine and real, you could see the relationship she had with each player. Big old dudes giving her a real hug just like she was one of their own family.

being a supportive wife of someone in the public must be one heck if a challenge. Working for or with the public means having to learn to live with the greatest of criticisms for even slight failure to live up to the expectations of others no matter how ridiculous those might be. The more one is in the public eye the more expectations there are and the more criticism is generated. then there is the loving wife who seeks to support her husband through all this while also wishing she could lash out at those her lash out at her husband...but cannot.
We, collectively, are a pretty sorry lot. If the coach loses, he is called the worst names, publicly mocked, threatened with his livelihood and this can spill over to public insults and threats against family members. We do this to preachers, doctors, lawyers, teachers, student athletes, mechanics, waitresses, pro athletes, politicians (who might actually deserve it).
The person who seeks to work for the public has a pretty rotten side to put up with, how much worse is it for the people who love them. As for the Swinney family, they're extra special.

college football. For me, the first word that comes to mind about her is "genuine". And, when it comes to charitable work, whatever the need is, she is willing to jump in with both feet, and do whatever she can to help out, be that fundraising, or actual "boots on the ground" helping out.
We often comment that guys "lucked out" when it comes to their wives. Dabo outkicked his coverage, was out of his league, won the lottery, or any other phrase you want to use in regards to that. He would tell you the same himself. How could ANYBODY not love Kathleen Swinney?
I am SO glad, that when Clemson University made Dabo Swinney an Honorary Alumnus several years ago, they had the vision and good sense to bestow upon Kathleen Swinney, at the same time, that same Honorarium. They both exhibit the best of the traits that you would want any Clemson man or woman to possess.

I know Ms. Swinney probably knows she is loved by the Clemson faithful and surrounding communities, but I hope she reads all of the comments that have been left on this thread. It is one thing to know you are loved, it is an entirely separate feeling to actually read and see how much you are loved.

Dabo has poured his heart and soul into coaching and specifically the coaching of Clemson University for the past 20 years. He has been a year great father and husband during that time span. Just cannot do that without a supportive wife who in her own way has given up just as much of her self for the team and the program. Not a selfish bone in her body. In a world where divorce and selfishness is rampant and couples routinely find ways to create rancor, we cannot underestimate the importance of the strength of that marriage to the consistency and success of Clemson football.
