Bowls games are not what they were. They are still fun, but not what they were.

Now that $$ is the deal, things changed. NIL, tranfer, NFL, etc. have quickly changed things.

Once every kid on a team was eager to play in a Bowl.

--- Now some kids who believe they have a shot at the NFL don't want to risk injury.

--- Kids seeking more NIL $$ enter the transfer portal after the season and before the Bowl. That is true of not just kids on the low end, but those making over a million.

--- Portal is a way for a kid not getting what he believes to be his share of reps to find a different team.

One reason I soured on the NFL was every year my favorite teams changed too much. At least the NFL has contracts and obligations. College football is now the wild frontier with no rules. It is a sad situation.

Bowl games are still fun, but it is a one off. These are not the teams that lined up and played during this year. These are not the teams that will play next season. It is just a mish mash of putting something on the field.

You get lured by pics from a decade ago, then realize once you get in that you’re aren’t the only one taking their turn abusing the system.
