Guessing you don't follow college basketball but VCU is considered a better job then Clemson. Note basketball is different than football in terms of the pecking order. VCU pays more than Clemson, has better facilities, has better history, Basketball is the top dog on campus, is easier to recruit given the talent in Richmond and the DC area and can accept JUCOs players. Most importantly it is easier for a young coach to do well there and hit the big payday.

$1.4 million in base plus supplemental income. Brad Brownell makes $1.7 million.
"...easier to recruit given the talent in Richmond and the DC area." VCU currently has only 4 players from Virginia out of 13 players, including one from South Carolina and none from the DC area. Of those 4 only 1 is in the top 4 in scoring.
His buyout is $1 million.
He is a Clemson graduate.

VCU is not considered a better job than Clemson. The only advantages they have is that they are a basketball-first school and have lower academic standards. They have certainly been a good program, especially lately, but the fact that Clemson has new facilities (which are now better than VCU's), plays in the ACC, and pays as much or more than VCU does in terms of salary makes Clemson a better job.
The only reason Clemson has historically been a "bad" job is because we had little to no commitment to it - and coaches and recruits knew it. They knew we were too wrapped up in being a football school and wouldn't put the money toward basketball facilities or salaries. I believe that is different under Radakovich, who understands that Clemson is a good job provided we have the facilities and salary in place.

I guess I'll have to take your word for it because I have no idea. I haven't been following college basketball for more than 10 years but...
We just won our second natty in football and I believe we have 2 nattys in soccer so... what's the problem?
