today from the “women’s sports are a joke” crowd. I get it. We got destroyed last night by our in-state rivals that happen to be coached by arguably the GOAT of women’s basketball…ok.
/begin rant
Why do so many people have to take this opportunity to just trash all women’s sports? There’s hundreds of Clemson ladies that have trained most of their lives to compete at a high level in their chosen sport, and they deserve respect for that. They are about all that left of “student athletes” at the D1 level…
They don’t ask anything of you. They don’t expect you to show up for their competitions. They don’t expect you to wear their fan gear or follow them on social media. They don’t expect you to be proud of them when they win. They definitely don’t expect to make money.
They really don’t expect anything of you but you still feel the need to trash them every chance you get. Women are not the same as men…women’s sports are not comparable to men’s sports. It’s ok. We don’t need to hear how much you hate them every time you actually notice they played a game.
Would it really be too difficult to just ####? Is that too much to ask?
Hopefully I’ll see some of y’all at the soccer match tonight. Heading to Clemson in a few, ready for lots of futbol and football.

I think the recent trashing women's basketball is a way to cope with the fact we got absolutely destroyed . There is absolutely nothing wrong with womens sports and people that trash them on the basis they are women or they think it's weak competition therefore not worthy are clowns
That being said, we cannot pretend that womens sports is a big revenue generator and you cannot build an athletic dept on women's basketball or women's soccer ticket sales. Also, if women don't begin to stand up for themselves in their own sports and put their foot down in regards to the trans athletes issue, they may wake up one day and women's sports is a thing of the past

Nobody pretends that women’s sports are “revenue generators”. Literally nobody. Only 2 sports actually make money. Clemson doesn’t even charge you to attend most sports…so why is the money part always brought up?
Just another way to disrespect women’s sports.

Yes, I can't imagine too many fans thought we'd be competitive last night based on SCAR dismantling a couple of Top 15 programs in their early schedule, but I wasn't expecting 109-40. SCAR put up 31 in the 1st qtr...Clemson had exactly 31 after the 3rd qtr. Coach Butler is improving recruiting and depth; nothing to do but get ready for the next game and flush this completely.

The craziest stat I've ever seen is us having 73 rebounds to your 40 points. I had to look at it a few times b/c I though it was wrong. That's insanity.

Unfortunately for womens sports I think it just comes down to how they are doing.
i.e. There is tremendous support for the softball team and I believe most Clemson fans are rooting for the women's soccer team to do well in the NCAA tournament.
You get more of the "we don't care" about xyz in women's sports when they are not performing well then you do Men's.
But I agree, no need to trash the women.

I agree … which is why I choose to just not talk about it most times. I mean don’t get me wrong I hope they do well and win every game they play and will be happy for them but the only sport that I can stand to watch a few minutes of is softball and that’s if we are on and there’s nothing else on… not trashing women sports bc they work their A$$ off just like all athletes I just simply don’t enjoy watching. But a lot of girls look up to these athletes which is awesome and I will pull for them to win every game and continue to be great role models I just simply don’t enjoy watching much but doesn’t mean I don’t respect what they can do in their sport. GO Tigers !

Women's basketball nationally has improved so much. Clemson Softball is the best thing to watch other than football.

First, I haven't trashed anything. I like women's sports. Softball, golf, soccer, lacrosse, etc., but women's basketball is just something I've never enjoyed. It's like watching a middle school game to me.

I can understand if Clemson fans are not the biggest women's basketball fans considering we have had one of the worst power conference programs for the last 20 years. But that does not mean we dismiss all women's sports.
Success breeds attention. Like let's not let the Gamecock fans pretend that they were big about WBB before Staley. If we had as much success as them in the sport, we would certainly be supportive of it.

Thank you Noodle. There's a small group of posters on here that appreciate and support All Clemson sports, including attending the events. It is much appreciated.
Sadly, the vast majority on T-Net do not share that enthusiasm. The T-Net forum has become a toxic waste dump of endless drivel and quite honestly, the content on the main page is stale and usually late. Thanks again.
