Going into a big day of championships, Clemson is projected as an 8-seed for both ESPN and CBS Sports now.
For ESPN, the Tigers are pegged to take on Dayton in a Brooklyn pod with 1-seed UConn and 16-seed Stetson within the East Region (Boston). South Carolina (5) and Charleston (13) are possible Sweet 16 matchups from the other pod.

For CBS Sports, Clemson is picked to take on Mississippi State in a Memphis pod with 1-seed Houston and 16-seed Longwood in the South Region (Dallas). Duke is in the pod that can be a Sweet 16 matchup.

Thankfully that the NET teaches us that the first 10 games (1/3rd of the season) matter the most. Otherwise, Clemson may not even get a home game in the NIT (sarcasm)
The irony of the NET (and the flaws of the selection process) are so glaringly apparent in Clemson basketball. Back to back seasons of nearly identical overall success. Yet, last year we were told Clemson was barely on the bubble (Next Four Out) and this year a composite of all projections have us as a 6 seed. It doesn't add up. (IMO, we deserve a 9,10 seed both this year and last).

Last year's team lost 3 games to some of the worst teams in the NCAA that year. This year's team managed to avoid that particular brand of ignominy, but came up with all new ones (well, old ones all over again because we've seen this movie many times before).

I hope you're right, I'd be surprised but elated. I'll take a 6 or 7 seed, even a 10 or 11 seed but dread an 8 or 9.

Curious; If we end up a 8 or worse, would you be disappointed in the play that put in the lower seed or disappointed that the selection committee would put us in at a lower seed?

I think we deserve better than a 8 seed based on our resume, but regardless of our seed, I am already disappointed in our play recently. Losing 3 of our last 4 is very concerning heading into the NCAA Tournament.
We have to get our mojo back ASAP.

I would be ecstatic with a 6 or 7 seed, but 8 or 9 is more realistic. As poorly as we finished the season, I'll just be glad if we get in the tournament.

Our NET corresponds with the last 9th team seeded. You used your Kamala gif on anyone suggesting we’d be less than a 5 seed before the ACC tourney. You’re a propagandist - not the basketball fan some continue to mistake you for.

I’m one who has been predicting 8 seed. To be a 6 seed, you would have to believe that we are one of the 24 teams in the tournament with the best resumes. I think we blew that over the past two weeks, but it still may be good enough for an 8 seed. I’m not pessimistic. I’m a statistics guy, and I think that’s where the statistics point. If I’m wrong and we get a 6 seed, I will be surprised but happy.

Why???? Since the start of January, this Team is a .500 Ball Club! With horrific last minute choke jobs on multiple occasions!!!!!! Clemson’s Guard Play has generally been subpar! Girard is a Defensive liability with POOR Dribbling Skills!!!! And Hunter completely DISAPPEARS too often!

No need to look at later rounds in any projection. CBB’s coaching history says he’s one and done in most NCAAT appearances. 3-6 all-time with seven one and done trips. Won one game once and two once. Doesn’t exactly exude confidence. He seem to love to make things hard on himself and teams. Could have had a much better chance for at least one win as the six seed. That 8-9 matchup is a nightmare in comparison.

We'll probably get the 8 seed due to the BC game collapse and the fact that Clemson basketball doesn't have a strong history. Selection committees are never unbiased and always take into count a programs previous success/failures.
