Of course, we have games to be focused and hungry about before we get that far.

I would like to see Clemson play the best team they can play. (other than FSU or Alabama as they seem better than everyone else this year)
Oregon would be the most exciting matchup IMO, but if Clemson loses badly and gets embarrassed like they did against FSU then recruits will think Clemson won't compete for the national championship next year.
On the other hand, if Clemson beats South Carolina in Columbia and Oregon in a bowl game… then the Clemson Football program will look like they are a few players away from winning a national championship. Signing that extra player or 2 could make all the difference next season & beyond.

I agree Oregon Clemson would be a great matchup and winning the in state rivalry game and a win over Oregon would be huge for recruiting etc
however, once you mention Clemson being a few plays away from natty champ is taking it a bit far. 1st Clemson has to win those games, then we are still left with the spanking from FSU, that is far from a few plays, that is more like being a full game away from the big boys
