Tennessee and South Carolina hope you are right. You guys have to play smarter this year. You are loaded with talent. No more getting beat over the top. And it’s ok to cover the tight end.

Defense was all injured last year.
Freshmen got starting roles.
Seniors are back.
We are 2+ deep on pure 2-way player athlete starters
fyi - our DBs played WR in HS

If they can cut out at least half of the big plays allowed last season, do that and this will be a pretty salty defense, without a doubt a top 5 D, but, the QB scramble plays will have to be kept in check bc last season opposing QBs was able to escape when the D had them trapped in the back field, and all of a sudden they were running wild for huge gains. Another huge mistake by our D last season that usually happened with 3d and long, and that was the TEs were getting wide open across the middle, and some of their biggest gains were the opposing RB or a TE being totally alone running down the side lines without not one secondary anywhere close to them to make the stop. Take away those out of position mental errors, and we are a top 5 defense.
Where Goodwin is concerned, He's got to get a lot better with knowing when, and where the all-out blitz should be coming from. If Goodwin can better with design blitzes, and when to call them, he will do a much better job with stopping those dual threat QBs with good wheels the way that BV could do it, with the talent we have on the D, we could have a solid top 5 defense...
Go DEFENSE, cut back on mental errors that will always come from lack of experience. Without a doubt, most of the mental errors were bc of players that were to young lacking the needed experience that talent alone can't make up for. It also causes seasoned players to make mental errors by trying to help cover for guys without the needed experience. Throw in a totally inexperience DC, and that makes thing even worse....

After last years performance…you’re going to have to prove it…rather than make that claim..best in country…preseason….I surely hope so..

Yea… I’m seeing the same old crap from last year …not impressed w secondary at all..and the offense doesn’t have a pulse. Horrible opening display
