Not hating on him. He’ll still make a team and the league so therefore an elite athlete to make it to the highest level but I’m not seeing him high on draft boards.

He had several things he could improve on. Better Balance and Pass Blocking are the 2 most glaring!

This is where I expect him to thrive. Shipley’s verified numbers in high school were very similar to McCaffrey’s NFL combine numbers. If he can match those, it will be hard for him to not be drafted by someone. Just check out his 247 recruiting page. What always cracked me up was Shipley’s size and metrics all matched McCaffrey, but 247 insisted on listing Joe Mixon as the player he reminded them of. Silly.

Ship making a big mistake. Needs another year in Riley’s offense. Would have been used as a passing target a lot.

Team might be better off as his attitude slipped out of place at times. Believe we have some good running backs there and coming. I personally thought Thomas was better.

But I'm also in the minority who thinks Shipley may sign as a Free Agent over being drafted. His fumbles, and inability to break tackles will play a huge factor.

Thomas had 18 carries TOTAL. And that's enough for you to think he's better than Shipley? Come on man that's ridiculous.

If he focuses on route running, I could see him having a long career in the nfl as a wr/rb hybrid with the right team…sort of like Pierre Thomas with Drew Brees in NO.

I don't think he improves his draft stock but another year of NIL money may be more than he gets from the NFL.

Comparison to McCaffrey

Ship isn't nearly as tough and physical as McCaffrey and he's much easier to bring down. It's a poor comparison IMO.
This is why his ticket to the NFL is returning kicks.
I don't think he gets drafted. With few exceptions, RBs are a dime a dozen in the NFL.

I'd guess he's a third day pick. He does have value as a return guy and a back who is actually a very good receiver. Those things will get him drafted somewhere in the middle rounds I think.

I hope he learns to control or channel his emotions as he matures. If he tries that belligerent yelling and gesturing towards coaches and teammates in the NFL, he will be out of a job before he can say "Chipotle".........or....... some NFL lineman might teach him some manners.
