I don't blame the players for late game meltdowns

After watching the last 4 games, it's obvious that the men's basketball team is poorly coached. But here's why.

Down the stretch: missed free throws, bad fouls, poor defense, stagnant offense. It's hard to watch. The guys are just not playing with any confidence in the last few minutes. That's the head coach's fault. Watching the last timeout last night, the eyes of the players told it all. They looked lost.

Georgia Tech had a freshman point guard who played with the confidence of a 4th year senior. Clemson had 5 guys on the court the last 2 minutes who looked like they were afraid to make a mistake. No aggressiveness on offense, no will to break through a high pick on defense, no confidence whatsoever.

The past 4 games were all lost in the last 5 minutes. CBB just didn't have his team mentally ready to play. Physically, we matched up well. Definitely a sign of vastly deficient coaching.

She's in no position to judge. She's been proven wrong, spectacularly.

Afraid to win. That should be on shirts sold by Brad Brownell. He becomes tight and it carries over to the team.

I’ve been saying the same thing for years! It’s coaching and instilling confidence in the players. That’s where Brownell fails.

Class of ‘71. Went through “rat season” and glad I did.

There is no doubt that our basketball problem is with the coaching, and it's been the same problem for 14 years, and Brad Brownell is the #1 problem!!!

Finishing mojo has never been a Brad specialty, which has certainly been the source of quite a bit of frustration over these many years. It's like more of a scramble not to lose than a determination and confidence to win, and I agree that the approach manifests itself in how his players perform during those critical stretches. PJ Hall looked like he was taking his first free throw attempt ever in the UNC game there near the end - both of them. Completely out of synch, yet in synch with the team vibe at that point.

It's been a characteristic that's hard to pinpoint and identify, but overall the lack of connection to game flow and circumstance has been evident in Brad for many years and the root of why our ceiling under him is so limited.
