Just heard him on an interview. He said NCAA stands for

Not Caring About Athletes.

I think it stand for

Not Caring about Academics.

You are correct. It’s semi pro ball now. They will do whatever to get them graduated. Hate it for the ones that actually use the opportunity to better themselves academically the right way. May feel like a slap in the face when some graduate and you knowing they gave little effort to get the same thing you worked for.

I am not sure dale brown is right. I have to believe if you ask a lot of D1 athletes they would tell you they took advantage of everything these Schools had to offer. I know a lot fall through the cracks and get left behind. Countless take a step up the ladder.

Many are coming out with master degrees because they play 6 years now.

Let's be honest. A 4 year degree is not worth what it use to be worth.

I don’t know how it is today, but I am friends with a former Tarheel who went to on the NFL and he told me they strongly encouraged the players to take the easy way academically. He said they were told they were at the school to play football and school should not get in the way of that (my paraphrasing). Shame really. UNC was a highly respected school and actually getting the benefits of that education should have been high on the list of goals when you accept a scholarship.

How about NO CLUE AT ALL ???

Well, Dabo pretty much said it - it's a business first and

foremost. If some kids can get an education as a result of playing college sports, then that's great. If not, no biggie, it's a business after all, and the primary goal is to make money, not make sure that kids get an education.
