seems like today's NFL player is not nearly as tough as the old timers were. #### Butkus would rip somebody's leg off, and they would duct tape it back on, and be back out there the next series. These modern guys take any kind of hit, they are rolling around on the ground and done.
I think lack of wearing NEARLY the amount of pads as the old guard did may also have something to do with this.
It IS pretty cold and frozen in Buffalo right now, as well.

I don't either, but it can't be as bad as we think it is. Lots of backs and receivers do it.

Well, they don't play on the same turf we did. Red clay, sparse grass, remnants of plowed furrows and corn stalk stumps. It could be tough on knees and elbows.

That's because the game is now full of pre-Madonnas trying to outdo each other with dog and pony shows to attract attention. When I see one floundering on the ground, two things come to mind: what in the fire type of conditioning are they undergoing, and why in the thunder aren't they wearing more protection?
