Do any of you celebrate July 5?

9

Jul 5, 2023, 10:00 AM

Apparently, someone in Greer does and let it be known by shooting off fireworks at 5:00am today... or at least I hope it was fireworks and not gunshots.

Wondering what the motivation was...

I celebrate each day God has given me

It has been 368 days since an armoire fell on my legs rendering me immobile temporarily. I am improving daily still and enjoy being upright and breathing. While I can get around I still use a walker since I never know when my knees will buckle. I still need both arms to get onto my feet but need them less everyday. I have a wonderful wife supporting me and wonderful neighbors that are also a major support.

That is why I celebrate each day, but not with fireworks. Sounds like someone in Greer was still drunk and didn't know it was no longer the 4th.

Seriously, I'm grateful for every day... in the last five years I've lost three friends I grew up with, one of my closest friend's lost his son, another very close friend lost his wife, and I've lost all my uncles. Enjoy it while you can..

Not this year for us. The fireworks stopped at around 11:00 p.m. In years past, it usually stops at around 1:00 a.m. I think this is a sign of a weak economy. We heard drastically less fireworks and there were very few people at fireworks stands. People just don't have the money to spend a lot on fireworks in my opinion.

I have a neighbor that used to shoot fireworks till 2 or 3 am. I cured him of shooting fireworks late by shooting Tannerite very early next AM.

Dearly beloved
We are gathered here today
To get through this thing called life

Electric word life
It means forever and that's a mighty long time

But I'm here to tell you
There's something else
The after world

A world of never ending happiness
You can always see the sun, day or night

I celebrate that all the waist of money is over, but now I hate the thought of the New Year total waist of money with all the noise. But let me say this, nobody loves the Americans love for fireworks anywhere close to Xi Jinping of China. With all the money that Americans spend on Chinese goods.

Xi Jinping is taking the most of the money that American buy Chinese goods, and he is building a Navy that will dwarf the American fleet that once had the biggest Navy in the world. It won't be too much longer before Xi Jinping and the peoples republic of China will attack/Invade Taiwan that will be the start of one of the most costly wars that our American forces have been in with a high cost of life, military equipment, and the money that will take the US years to recover from, and Xi can do this with the tons of money that comes from the people he will be destroying if we even attempt to defend our Taiwan ally...

It can't be done by one person, but it can be done one person after another, and when all the talk started a year or so ago, I ask my wife to please don't buy anything with a made in Chine ID on it, and I have to give her credit, she has done pretty well of avoiding anything made in China.

Get used to it. Some people buy enough fireworks to last a week..

Plus some areas had storms last night.........
