Sorry guys but the real DEATH VALLEY is not in SC

It is in California, and I am going there with my family this summer.
Anybody know if it is legal to pick myself up a doorstop?

I would think it is not in the national park or national monument. just outside that which roughly looks the same I dont think it matters

... summer is not the best time of year to go! Really, really hot.
But while you are there at least take in highway 395 and the backside of the Sierras (Lone Pine, Big Pine, Bishop, Mammoth, etc.). Beautiful area that most folks don't know about it seems (unless you are driving to Mammoth to ski). That way you can at least experience some cooler weather and from Mammoth it is an easy drive into Yosemite.

but LA started diverting water, thus not allowing new water into the sea. The salinity levels shot sky high and now the shoreline is lined with dead fish and birds and clumps of run down trailers.
Death Valley is a great place to visit, and I second the trip up the east side of the Sierras. Joshua Tree is also nice.

Correct - the salt content is so high - you can't submerge yourself.

They have big signs at the exit,telling you about the "'FINE"" if caught taking a ""door-stop"" (AKA rock ) with ya' !!!!

Came through DV several years ago on a cross country trip and picked up several ROCKS.Look just like the one at the HILL...sort a!They do have signs saying not to,but no one was looking so I did.Oh well.
