Another Brownlee head scratcher, horrible use of timeouts

Duke was out of timeouts so we decide to call our last for them so they can compose themselves and draw up a play. Then we have no timeout for after they go ahead for us to compose ourselves and draw something up

That is so childish and just shows your lack of knowledge about basketball. This was one of the best coaching jobs I have ever Brownell, or any other, Clemson coach have. This was Duke in Cameron.

you give a team like Duke who is talented a chance to draw something up and again give their young players time to draw something up after their best player fouled out. Make them play in the moment.

That was a terrible timeout.
Ever worse was the decision not to call one at all when we were turning it over 4 times in a row. Call one, calm them down, draw up a play. We hit a bucket on any of those possessions and we likely win.
Instead, we didn’t even attempt a shot at all. Terrible game management.

I agree. Calling timeout with 7.4 seconds to go helped Duke more than it did us. I hear what you are saying Mountaineer but in that case you play with who you have on the floor and make them have to go down in a hurry without a chance to get organized.

I wouldn't have called the time out, gave Duke a timeout. Make them play it out.
