Hypothetically speaking - Can't an OC get better?

Let me preface this by first saying - I am right there with everyone screaming to fire "x" when things are going wrong and it seems like there are obvious, better plays, etc. to be run at the time. Also, I am no football coach and never have been. But, I have had a fairly successful career working for others, and then owning my own business and managing others for several years now. Saying that, I would like some honest feedback on my thoughts this morning.

As a dedicated, hardworking employee that knows what success feels like but has fumbled some, Streeter may learn from his mistakes, and seek the training, mentoring, etc. needed to improve. He may decide to go with a completely different offensive approach for the coming year. He and Dabo could have discussed the need for some big changes and everyone is on the same page with making some needed changes.

Many times we see someone else, a coach, employee, fresh new candidate that is getting it right. We that they are winning, have the right attitude and immediately think "wow, he has some secret and has figured out something no one else has and we need him." When in reality, that person may have just:
a. luckily stumbled onto something that just happened to work but can be replicated by others;
b. Just have that initial hunger and drive seen by new, ambitious people; or
c. appeared to be great based on others involved (stud players, etc.).

What is so easy to forget to consider is that most of the time, if the person/people we have are willing to put forth the effort, they can achieve the exact same thing if it is either a. or b. mentioned above. We don't need to make drastic decisions just because we see the new, shiny toy on the shelf and think we want it. When a change must be made is when our person either does not have the drive/desire to achieve more, or if the person we has is somehow unable to do so because of mental or physical restrictions. One would think we would not be limited by that. If our OC was considered good enough to be in the position he is in, there must clearly be trust in that he can handle it mentally. Plus, there are plenty of us without the needed experience that obviously see other plays/calls would have worked better or made more sense at certain times. Sometimes, a person loses the drive, or gets fat and comfortable and in this game, that doesn't work. Sports are a lot like sales in that you must constantly be trying to hit your goals and improving year after year or someone is going to beat you. Many times you see a top salesperson do great a few months/years but then fizzle out. They lost the drive and got comfortable. So, they either need to regroup and do what is needed to improve quickly and keep their position and keep producing, or it is time for them to move on and get a fresh start somewhere else. So maybe, just maybe, we should trust our boss (Dabo) when he wants to stick with certain employees to allow them to make changes and adjustments. If the same things continue to happen for a few seasons - then we look to having an employee replaced.
Now, If it is c (above) - that is something that has to be addressed by better recruiting, development, etc. I'm going to leave that part alone!
