Brent Venables...Not sure how much he makes or anything

Nov 3, 2015, 11:32 AM

but I know it's not enough.

When Chad Morris was here they put a clause in his contract that only if he gets a head coaching job there will be no buyout (or something to that nature) and they gave him 1 million +.

With the defenses that BV has produced over the last couple of years do we want to do the same with him? Make him the highest paid defensive coordinator with a clause that ONLY if he accepts a head coaching job there will be no buyout.

In my opinion the man has deserved to be the highest paid Defensive Coordinator.

What say you? How much would you like to see BV get paid each year to keep him here at Clemson with top defenses in the nation? Million +?

Seems like that's already the case.

Just would hate to see BV go anywhere else.

And just an FYI...

He's the 2nd highest paid DC behind Muschamp who is getting paid 1.7 mill for this bottom 25 defense at auburn

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

Venables is #6 Highest-Paid DC according to this article...

Pay whatever it takes

Nov 3, 2015, 11:39 AM

This defense is light years ahead of where it was before BV got here. His intensity is infectious. Seems like the players love playing for him!

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

he'll be here a while...as long as he doesn't read Tiger Net

Re: Brent Venables...Not sure how much he makes or anything

He is getting 1.35 million a year and is the 6th highest paid assistant coach. He has no buyout if he leaves for a head coaching job. Owes 25% of the remaining contract if he leaves for a non-head coach job.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He needs to be bumbed to 1.75 after we win the Natty!

Re: Brent Venables...Not sure how much he makes or anything

Nov 3, 2015, 12:37 PM

I'm guessing that all of the coaches will be in line for a nice raise this year. Unfortunately with all of the head coaching vacancies opening up I'm scared Venables might leave for a head job somewhere. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want the usuc job but there will probably be a lot of people coming after him after he finishes with another top 10 D.

Re: Brent Venables...Not sure how much he makes or anything

IMO, the recruiting and coaching stability he brings to Clemson strongly suggest a noteworthy raise would be prudent.
