Once because I had an ear infection, could not hear. I wasn't in pain, but not exactly comfortable either. The other, I scratched my eye. Boss freaked out, though I had pink eye.
I'd have to be so bad off that I knew I'd only stay in bed all day. I felt bad with my ear because I was able to sit up and play video games.

After working at a doctor's office... if I am contagious, I stay home. The doctor's constantly said that is the most prolific way germs spread... sick people going into public places. They would write people notes to stay out of work for a couple of days. One guy said that there is no way he wasnt going to go back in. The checkout lady told him it wasnt for him, it was for everyone else at his work. He kinda looked dumbfounded that he could possibly get someone else sick.

Is for sick workers to stay home. This is why incentives for attendance have been done away with at most companies. If you have the flu, tough it out, go to work, now 5 other people have the flu.

and when family is sick or you have Dr appts.. those are about the only times I've stayed at home 'sick.'
