He can be very good if he has time. We need to keep him under pressure because that is when he tends to become average.

We played him last year. He can scramble, but not as fast as Hartman, he is more accurate than the GT QB, and he sees the field well when he is in the pocket.
It doesn’t matter how good a QB is if he can’t see the heat coming down on him from the pass rush. I think we have turned the corner enough that we will play well against them. Their defense is awful.

The have one really good really fast receiver and Maye can hit him.
They have pretty solid tight end and decent running backs.
Maye occasionally makes a play with his legs.
He's as good or better than the ND guy when he was at WF and carving us apart.
If we can cover the one receiver we should be fine.

Nate Wiggins is our only guy who can consistently defend that big time UNC WR effectively.
NW has to show out big time; if he does, then we will win with our conservative offense game plan.

Maye is a winner. Our Tigers will not be able to intimidate him. Hopefully we can keep him in control for most of the game. The Tigers better put on their big boy britches. Maye can beat you. I just hope this game doesn’t come down to a field goal . . . but it likely will!

Maye has one truly elite receiver; this guy is far beyond anything GA Tech and ND have.
Maye can simply throw it up high and in the vicinity of this guy to get either a TD or a key first down. I forget this UNC reveiver’s name. He is the transfer guy who had to sit out four+ games as per a NCAA ‘rule’ or special judgement.
He’s not quite as good as FSU’s #4 (their portal WR … forgot his name, too), but clearly the next best WR that we will face all year.
WF’s Jahmal Banks and S.Carolina’s Legette are also very good, but nothing like this UNC receiver.
Since Maye is also the best overall QB that we will face this year … better than Duke’s Riley Leonard back when he was healthy, and IMO better than FSU’s (IMO, slightly over hyped) Jordan Travis … our defense will have a big challenge.
Even with UNC’s lousy defense, we will struggle to score more than 28 points. That’s just the way we are, and need to be, in order to keep a run heavy offense that limits the chances for catastrophic turnovers.
And, same as with every one of our opponents, we are disadvantaged in our FG unit.

Very good, only thing that kept Duke In that game was 4 FG in the red zone rather than touchdowns.

Probably picked #2 behind Williams, but I think Maye will be a better nfl qb. Comparable to Stroud in style, but doesn't have the line or WR like OSU had.

He’s probably the number 1 pick. (Maybe Caleb Williams) but it’s safe to say he’s as good as they get. He just doesn’t have the talent around him that he needs. He would have won a Heisman and National Championship if he had chosen a different school.

Id have to give the nod to the 27 yr old out of ND by way of wake.
The country, acc and college football has so many high rated qbs rn. Maybe a covid era thing with the qb or who is around them.
Could be nil taking qbs who were waiting behind someone.
Just alot of qbs looking good thru optics I believe.

They're going to score a decent amount of points. But, their D isn't great, so we can score them too. I think our D continues to develop and has a great game against NCheat. They're pretty beatable.
