It should be north of 30 in the opener, because it’s Duke. With that said, first games are always weird because the players are still knocking off the rust and getting their timing back so it’s hard to evaluate what the remainder of the season will look like. I am definitely hoping for a vast improvement over last year.

My guess is that they can and will.
Man for man, we probably have as good or better offensive players than TCU at ‘every’ position.
It’s hard not to be very excited about the season.

First games are often odd affairs offensively and not indicative of what the team will look like going forward.
This game is especially hard to project given all of the question marks we have.
I'm gonna guess Clemson starts slow offensively, but wears them down in the 2nd and 4th quarters to win 35-17.

i hate to be the one to break the news
But people thought DJU should have started over CK2 for almost the entire season, i didn't . not even in game 1.
I would anticipate that those same folks are the ones thinking Clemson vs Duke will be close

There's a reason why Jeff Scott leaving resulted in a loss to LSU
and Clemson losing every big game after that day.
it's coaching.
there's also a reason TCU made a Natty run. it was called coaching
the root cause is gone . and Dabo did it in a polite southern way

I hope it's 40+, but secretly hope it's 50+.
If my internet source is correct, our PPG over the last 5 years are 33.2, 26.3, 43.5, 43.9, and 44.3 (that's 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, and 2018 respectively).
Maybe we're not operating on all cylinders the first game (which is realistic), but I just hope our scoring takes a big jump this year.

I'd guess 30+, however, remember even some of our best teams tend to start off a little slow and build as the season progresses. Wouldn't be surprised if that is not the case this year as well. I hope we dominate all year but, winning will be enough until we really break in Cade and the O gets rolling for the playoff push. I'm thinking this O will be wide open from day 1 though. Just won't be suprised if it doesn't take a few games to really get going.
