How long before Biden admin indicts RFK, Jr.?

1

Jun 11, 2023, 9:11 AM

RFK, Jr. is a big time political threat to Biden.

How long before the Biden admin arranges for his indictment?

RFK,Jr. is certainly not immunized against this threat.

TU for the clever “immunized” reference.

Only the dimmest of bulbs thinks that RFK Jr (who has never held office and had to step down as an assistant DA because he couldn't pass the bar) is anything resembling a serious threat to Biden. You wish he was because you hate Biden. But you make yourself sound less serious when you act like it is true.

Indict? You mean for the heroin possession charge? RFK Jr. pleaded out to that and served two years probation and community service. That was like forty years ago.

If not a threat, then why no Democrat debates?***

For the simple reason that he could become a threat

if he debates Biden.

Jimmy Carter debated Ted Kennedy.

Debates happen (or should) when the incumbent has job approval numbers hovering in the 40% range.

My bad.

I should have reminded everyone that debates are pretty much moot if held held AFTER the various state primaries had been held (the vast majority of which take place before mid-May).

Thanks for the informative link, though.

FYI, there are another ~ 8 months before the first of the 2024 state primaries are to be held.

Between now and then the Democrat party could arrange for some debates if they can coax Biden out from his basement.

For the same reason Trump didn't debate William Weld. Did Obama debate in his reelection campaign? Did George W Bush debate in his reelection campaign?

Seated Presidents don't debate unserious opponents.

After the Ford and Carter General Election losses, it made it far less likely that serious mid-term challengers would step up.

59.3% is way more than 16.8%.

It's not especially impressive in "anyone but Biden" terms.

Agree, he has no chance and his anti-vax platform in which kids would indeed be dying of measles and polio might well resurrect itself in this country is a novel platform to run on.

However, I'm surprised no one is challenging Biden. I don't care for Gavin Newsom at all, but if he were to run, I think Biden would not survive that challenge. Most Democrats want another choice besides Biden.

I do think Kennedy's run will weaken Biden though.

It's sad that Biden is the best the Dems have to offer and Trump is currently far ahead of the Pub field.

There are better people on both sides.

If it's Biden v Trump, I can only hope there will be a good 3rd party candidate otherwise I'll drink neither poison.

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Same. Sad truth is, Biden is all dems need.

Jun 11, 2023, 9:48 AM

They are confident (and rightly so) that Trump will be the pub nominee, and they know Biden will beat him again, for the same reasons he did before.

Ultimately, we get what we deserve.

I don’t mean indictments for a real crime.

I mean indictments based on fabricated crimes … Russia hoax stuff.

I mean dredging up old allegations (those far beyond the statutes of limitations) in which a single exception to statute of limitations gets enacted so that decades old allegations can be brought to trial … E.Jean Carroll faux rape stuff.

(*). We all know that the establishment Democrats launch fabricated suits with impunity. What’s to stop them now? Biden cannot survive debates against anyone other than Kamala. RFK, Jr. would destroy Biden in debates. Debates cannot be allowed to happen.

Incumbents with job approval ratings in the 50% range don’t have serious challengers.

Incumbents with job approval ratings in the 40% or less range have (or should) have challengers.

So why didn't an unpopular Trump debate William Weld?

Edward Kennedy was a seated senator and a serious challenger to Carter's reelection.

Similarly, Ford could not avoid debating Reagan.

(Coincidentally, both survived the primary challenges but lost the general.)

Don't be a hypocrite. Nobody in the Democratic Party gives two ##### that MAGAts don't want Biden to run again.

Williamson is a "self help guru" and this isn't her first run.

Nobody is going to challenge Biden which is why you guys are so triggered.

Newsome could have but he knew that a primary fight would have weakened the party.

That your strategy for winning the election seems to be "hope the Democrats do something stupid" says something about the state of the GOP. And people have been saying for months that the way for the GOP to top Trump is to have a narrow field that doesn't split all the votes, and instead y'all are going to have eight or ten people competing. GOP is a complete mess. Between this and the fourteen votes for Speaker, there are no adults in the room.

The Democrat voters thus choose to be willfully ignorant, as usual.

Terrified of new policy ideas when their thought leaders had not defined single policy positions to them for each issue, the sheep become neurotic.

In this thread, different Biden haters take the positions that if RFK gets indicted, it's because the Biden administration is crooked, but if RFK doesn't get indicted, it's because the Biden administration is crooked.
