How does CFP committee rate a win?

Do we get credit for beating a ranked team like TAMU
at the time we played them or

If they (TAMU) drop out of the top 25 by season's end
is that considered a win over another unranked
opponent?

Won’t matter....CFP committee knows Clemson program is #1.

I don't know how the committee looks at this, but it ain't looking too good for TAMU. They still have games against Bama, Carolina( maybe the only win), Georgia and LSU.
