Hotels in Atlanta

Heading down to Atlanta for the Ga Tech game. Any suggestions for a hotel close enough to the stadium to walk to the game? Anyone know what hotel the team will be staying at? Thanks in advance.

For safety sake, I don't think you want to be staying in any hotel that is within walking distance of that stadium.

Those rooms rent by the hour.

Staying in a hotel near stadium would be akin to renting room in the Fuller Park area on South side of Chicago on weekend.

I'm not sure if the previous posters have been in the area in a minute. The tech area is safe and depending on what you consider walking distance there are plenty of good options. Hilton Garden Midtown is a 13 minute walk. The hotel is less than 2 years old. If you want upscale the Loews Atlanta is 25 minute walk and Renaissance hotel (nice rooftop bar) is 15 min walk. Crowne Plaza Atlanta Midtown has been around a long time. I have never been inside. It is a 5 minute walk. For a light loafer experience, you might consider the Georgian Terrace or Hotel Indigo. They are 10 minutes away and Fabulous!. There are some dicey neighborhoods between Tech & the GA Aquarium & Centennial Olympic Park/MB stadium, but the hotels there are nice and 15-20 min walk. With a 3:30 kickoff there should be no issue walking to and from Bobby Dodd from this area. I plan to do that walk with my family. Enjoy!
