Let me get this straight. Sometimes these Aggies do some really goofy things and go beyond the pale, so we gotta think about this for a moment. Kevin Sumlin was only getting them 7 to 9 wins a year, so they send him packing to hire someone off the cast of "Little People" and pay him a bazillion dollars to continue getting 7 to 9 wins a year.THEN........they fire the waterhead and pay him another bazillion dollars to disappear and whom do they bring in???????? Another Coach who wins 7 to 9 games a year. Ya just gotta love those Aggies! Maybe all those Aggie jokes we heard while in Texas were actually just true stories. The Aggies have become the Coots of Texas!

Honestly...I think Elko is a good hire for A&M.

Winning 8 or 9 games at Duke is easier said than done. Duke doesn't come even remotely close to matching the talent and resources of A&M.

I have been around A&M fans more than a few times and I would never compare them to the Coots. In my experience, they are some of the most respectful, cordial, and hospitable fans I have ever been around.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

They differ from the coots in that they are hospitable, but they give the coots a run for their money in the arena of delusion. I am in an office with a half dozen of them, and trust me, they know no bounds when it comes to summer time and recruiting national championships.... Thankfully they are otherwise good people.

I would expect nothing else from a aTm fan though I've run into a few exceptions.

As for their new coach, the last guy that got Duke to a strong football record wound up becoming a legend. I think he will do well at his new gig.

Fisher was nothing but a dumpster fire and only cared about his bank account which has swollen quite nicely. If you really want to attend a bucket list game go to College Station and enjoy the festivities and a especially the midnight yell. Wife and I loved their tailgating and overall hospitality.

The Jimbo fiasco was, no doubt, a fiasco but I think they got it right this time with Elko. I live up here in the Triangle and have followed him a bit for two years-he is impressive and will do well and be a force at A&M. Just like Spurrier when he went to Florida. Seven or eight wins at Duke is nothing to sneeze at.

I know the Elko family, my youngest son plays ball with their middle son. Mike is only 46. He’s a great guy with an awesome family. His wife told me a while back that they had moved 17 times since they were married. My son told me yesterday that the two youngest kids are staying with their Mom in the Apex, NC area to finish high school.

I would say 7 to 9 wins at Duke is a greater accomplishment than a SEC championship would be for a coach at Alabama or Ga.
