Clemson has been blessed with many truly great DL. Shaq Lawson (2013-2015) is certainly among those great players!! ClemsonTigers.com describes Lawson’s bio as follows:
“Defensive end who made an enormous impact in three seasons, blossoming into one of the top players at his position as a junior in 2015 ... had 167 tackles, 46.5 tackles for loss, 20 sacks, 29 quarterback pressures and two caused fumbles in 1,354 snaps over 41 games (16 starts) in his career ... eighth in Clemson history in career tackles for loss and 10th in sacks ... first Clemson defender since Anthony Simmons (1995-97) with double figure tackles for loss as a freshman, sophomore and junior ... finalist for several national awards after leading the nation in tackles for loss in 2015 ... declared after his junior season for the 2016 NFL Draft.”

After Clemson:
Lawson parlayed his monster 2015 season into a First Round NFL Draft pick. The Buffalo Bills selected Lawson with the 19th pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. Lawson has played the last eight seasons with the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and NY Jets. In 2023, he was back with his original team, the Bills. According to Pro-Football-Reference.com, Lawson has generated the following statistics to his credit:
2016-2023 (Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, NY Jets)
- 207 Tackles (121 Solo and 86 Assisted)
- 2 Fumble Recoveries
- 1 Interception
